You have out-of-state tags. The highway patrol pulled you over. They asked where you were going and what you were doing. They manipulated you into giving consent to search your vehicle.

Maybe the feds came to your door. They asked to come in and then came in, before you’d said yes or no. While inside they looked around until they saw something they thought gave them the right to search your whole apartment or house … until they found what they wanted to find.

Grand Jury Investigations

In federal drug crimes cases, the prosecutor often convenes a grand jury to investigate before bringing charges. Your attorney can advise you on how to protect yourself in a hearing and may be able to direct the course of your case and whether charges are ultimately filed against you.

Dismissal In Drug Possession Case
Our client was charged with felony possession of cocaine and felony possession with intent to distribute. He had been the subject of a joint investigation by the U.S. Postal Service, Drug Enforcement Administration, Johnson County Drug Task Force, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement. If convicted, he would have faced prison and then deportation. Mr. Bell argued that someone had mailed drugs to the client’s address. The package was not addressed to the client, and the client had no knowledge of the contents of the package. Mr. Bell was able to secure a dismissal of the charges and a release from ICE custody before a preliminary hearing occurred.
